Highlights of the Volunteer Workshop in Poznań, Poland on 29 May

🚣‍♂️ An amazing “Moving Without Barriers” practical workshop is behind us! 🌊

Yesterday (May 29), the long-awaited field-training part of the program for our volunteers took place at the Malta Regatta Course in Poznań! We are working within the framework of the European Erasmus+ Sport project, and yesterday proved that we are ready for major challenges. 🔥

There was one goal: to perfectly prepare our team to support athletes with intellectual disabilities during the upcoming 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships in Poznań. 🌍🛶

Theory (which we explored in March) is the foundation, but yesterday we focused on 100% practical training! What happened by the water?

🗣️ Communication without barriers: Under the guidance of the irreplaceable instructor Izabela Dylewska, we practiced communicating in plain language, responding to stress and sensory overload, and simulated challenging situations.

🦺 On-the-water activities and water rescue: We worked directly with lifeguards and technical staff. We practiced safety support, safe movement on the docks, and assisted with simulations of getting into and out of kayaks.

📋 Top-level organization and logistics: We tested radio communication, monitored functional zones, and practiced emergency response procedures.

Our volunteers demonstrated tremendous commitment, empathy, and excellent teamwork within their task groups. We have built a strong and cohesive team that proves sport is a space for absolutely everyone — #MovingWithoutBarriers is not just the name of our project, it is our real action! 💪💙

📸 Take a look at the gallery below to see how our field activities with water sports equipment looked in practice yesterday. Thank you to all participants, instructors, and coaches for the incredible energy! We are ready for the World Championships! 🏆
